The Battle of Midway, June, 4, 1942. This depicts the aftermath of the dive-bombing run by just three aircraft on the Japanese aircraft carrier 'Akagi.' led by Lt. Richard Best of VB-6. Two near misses -- one of which jammed the Akagi's rudder, and one direct hit at the mid-ship elevator, which penetrated the hangar deck.
